Living for me and the Assassination attempt

It seems like not long ago I came to Leelanau searching I suppose. Searching for that inner man I so desperately desired to find. A time to seek God and what he has for my life. As I moved in to the area and got settled in the doors of blessing swung open. A house to buy at a great price, a descent job, food to eat and of course lots of beautiful weather and free time to explore this beautiful area called Leelanau. But what I found here was not what I imagined, what I hoped for. I must say I ate enough fresh caught fish to kill a man but some things were evident to me only recently.

I worked hard and never saved any money and acquired more debt
I NEVER shot a deer in the two years I lived up here
And I spent very little time exploring until my time was almost gone here

So what then I ask did I want. I FISHED ALOT, I HUNTED ALOT......But I wasn't happy. I really found out the core of me while I was away. It is these things......

God
Family
Friends

The rest of it doesnt matter..........

Leelanau attempted to assassinate me by taking away my joy within its wonder and beauty. But I will not lose the battle, I will conquer her threw visiting and dreaming about the place I love rather then suffocating myself with it...............

WINTER IS HERE

Wednesday, November 29, 2006

FINALLY AN UPDATE

Well today I found myself getting ready for winter in this 55 degree weather. My front porch resembled a trailer park. More on that later.

During a recent wind storm this tree fell down in my backyard so I had to start up the saw and get busy.
All cut, next winters wood, or maybe for campfires. I just cant figure out what Im gonna do with all this wood If I dont burn it this wineter. Guess Ill have to bring it to GR.

The other big project was moving all that wood you remember seeing stacked behind my house this summer and getting it onto my nice dry porch for easy access this winter!

NOT JUST ANOTHER WOODSTOVE!

Well you all saw the previous woodstove picture. I had to take that one back, it was too small. So I bought Uncle Toms old one. This stove was the first one he had when he moved here in 1980. My great grandparents warmed themselves around this stove when Tom first moved up here. Its a pleasure to own it!!!!!

Interesting story!!!!

Today I had an appraiser at my house. After he left I went to measure the property line. I saw deer tracks, which I do from time to time so I put out some feed. WITHIN 1 HOUR i was standing by the back door when I looked out and saw a DEER! A BUCK AT THAT! He made his way to the feed and ate for a minute and then left. The problem is he is a 1 horned spike. So a 1 pt. Ill let him go I guess. Heres the picture. Good luck seeing the 1 horn!!

Me and my dad enjoyed a day of setting up tree stands, looking for deer and most importantly making memories. We went bird hunting this afternoon and I was able to watch my DAD shoot a beautiful Grouse. God has made so many wonderful things, I will never forget this day!!!

THE BIG SUPRISE

Here is a recent Post on my brothers blog........

Birthday Surprise for My Brother!
This year for my brother's birthday, I sat and thought about what he is passionate about. What type of gift would really grip his soul.....Make him feel a connection we share as brothers....Well, I knew right away what he needed....So I took the head of the 6lb Walleye that I caught after filleting it out and put it in a FOODSAVER bag which pulls all the air out.....Froze it.....Put it in a box and mailed it to him.....Prior to sending it, I began a short propaganda campaign to get him into the surprise......I may have told him a lie and said the following clues:1: It's something we are both passionate about.2:It is related to Gander Mountain.3:Its something you really enjoy to do.4: Its worth about $300. Really? You might ask. If you saw the $ I've put into lures, gas, launch fees, poles, reels, a$$ kissing to the wife to go fishing-You would think it was easily worth $300 a piece for the three Walleye I've caught this year...Here SHE IS ALL PACKAGED UP AND READY TO GO! A fresh frozen of the HOG WALLEYE!
LETS HOPE HE LIKES THE SURPRISE

Well I must say it was funny!!!!!!

I got home from work early to find the fishhead neatly wrapped In a priority package from the USPS. I wont forget it.
